The Autostaff Privacy Statement

Autostaff is bound by The Principles of the Privacy Act 1988 (as amended).  For the purposes of this Privacy Statement, “Autostaff” includes any personnel employed by or acting lawfully on behalf of i-cars.com Pty Ltd trading as Autostaff, ABN 23 106 702 783, registered in New South Wales under the Business Names Act, 2002 as Business Registration Number BN98372089

At Autostaff we respect the privacy of our clients and visitors to this web site.  Autostaff will not collect personal information unless the information is necessary for one or more of its functions or activities.  Autostaff will collect personal information only by lawful and fair means and not in an unreasonably intrusive way.  As soon as practicable after Autostaff collects personal information about an individual from the individual, Autostaff must take reasonable steps to ensure that the individual is aware of Autostaff’s identity and how to contact us, the fact that he or she is able to gain access to the information collected, the purposes for which the information is collected, and the identity of the organisations to which Autostaff usually discloses information of that kind.

Use and disclosure

Autostaff will not use or disclose personal information about an individual for any purpose other than the primary purpose of collection unless it is directly related to the primary purpose and the individual would reasonably expect Autostaff to disclose the information or the individual has consented to its disclosure.

Autostaff may use some information for the purpose of its own direct marketing but at no time will this information be used by or on behalf of third parties. Autostaff will, in each direct marketing communication with the individual, draw to the individual's attention, or prominently displays a notice, that he or she may express a wish not to receive any further direct marketing communications.  In addition, every written direct marketing communication from Autostaff to the individual will state Autostaff's business address and telephone number and, if the communication with the individual is made by email an email address to which any concerns or feedback may be sent.

If Autostaff uses or discloses personal information it must make a written note of the use or disclosure.

Data quality

Autostaff will take all reasonable steps to make sure that the personal information it collects, uses or discloses is accurate, complete and up-to-date.

Data security

Autostaff will take reasonable steps to protect the personal information it holds from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.  Further, Autostaff must take reasonable steps to destroy or permanently de-identify personal information if it is no longer needed for any approved primary purpose.

Openness

On request by any person, Autostaff will take reasonable steps to let the person know, generally, what sort of personal information it holds, for what purposes, and how it collects, holds, uses and discloses that information.

Access and correction

Autostaff holds personal information about individual, companies and organisations.  If an individual requests access to any relevant information about himself (or herself) Autostaff will do everything possible to comply as long as this would not impact on the privacy of other individuals or organisations.  Permission may be refused if in the opinion of the Autostaff Privacy Officer there are legal, commercial or other reasons that prevent such access. If it becomes apparent that any of the information held is incorrect, up-to-date, or incomplete, Autostaff will take all reasonable steps to correct the information.

Transborder data flows

Autostaff may transfer personal information about an individual to someone (other than the Autostaff personnel or the individual) who is in a foreign country only if the individual consents to the transfer.

Sensitive information

Autostaff will not collect sensitive information about an individual unless:
(a) the individual has consented; or
(b) the collection is required by law; or
(c) the collection is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of a legal or equitable claim.
